Centennial Park in Wellsford is a great area for a stopover and picnic lunch spot.

Good parking area, plenty of shade, toilets, playground for children and extensive sports grounds.

Getting there

Heading into Wellsford on State Highway 1 from the south turn off right before the bridge to Centennial Park Road (Wharehine contractors are on the corner). A short distance down you’ll find the main entrance on the right – well-maintained grounds on both sides of the road.  

There’s also a waste-water dropoff point for campervans and a well-kept (fenced) pond area with picnic tables on the left.

The park is the home of rugby, netball, tennis and fitness in Wellsford.
